The first time you launch NVivo, you are prompted to enter and activate your license key and create your NVivo user profile. If you have downloaded a trial version of the software, you do not need to enter a license key, but you still need to activate the trial.
Nvivo 8 License Key Serial
You are prompted to activate your license key when you first start NVivo. If you choose to activate later (for example, because you are not connected to the Internet at the time), you have a limited time before you must activate the license.
If you have purchased a perpetual license to replace a time-restricted license (e.g. a trial or student license), or for any other reason have a new license you want to use instead of the current one, follow the instructions below to replace licenses.
The Nvivo license usage is controlled by a connection to the WebStore KeyServer. Prior to registering your computer, you must install the Key Access Client on your computer and have an active network connection (with VPN if off campus). Please review your order and installation instructions to find the correct server connection information.
K-State recently renewed its site license for NVivo 10 to allow all current faculty, staff, and graduate students to have access to this qualitative and mixed methods research software. As part of this process, a new license key was issued for all site-license-based users of the software.
Every year, the licence for NVivo expires. There is no need to install the software again. When prompted you simply need to enter the updated license key from the RMIT NVivo download page for either staff or students. All active projects will be retained in NVivo and you will be able to access those again once you have entered the new licence key.
